1930s Yearbooks

During the Great Depression, La Sierra continued to grow even as student publications changed. The school expanded its campus, strengthened its academic program, and entered a new chapter near the end of the decade as Southern California Junior College became La Sierra College.

Archive note: At the beginning of the decade, The College Criterion final and Commencement issues served as annual-style records of the school year. No regular yearbook was published from 1933 through 1938. School records indicate that annual publication was suspended during the Depression years after earlier annuals proved financially difficult to sustain. In 1939, the school launched its first Meteor yearbook, beginning a new yearbook tradition.
