Taking Learning to New Locations

The most memorable learning experiences often happen beyond the classroom. To provide a cultural, experiential and applicable opportunities for students to learn unforgettable lessons, La Sierra Academy offers several trips throughout the school year that have a direct connection with our learner expectations.

ELEMENTARY Educational Class Trips

4th Grade: San Diego

5th Grade: Astrocamp

6th Grade: Alpine Camp

JR HIGH Educational Class Trips

Catalina Marine Adventure

Every year, junior high students participate in a science marine trip. During this educational adventure, students spend five days and four nights on Catalina Island.

Highlights of the Tour May Include:

  • Boat transportation to and from Catalina Island

  • Marine studies

  • Open-water school aboard a scientific ship

  • Waterfront Activities: Swimming, paddle boats, sea kayaks, snorkeling, inner tubes, boogie boards, hiking and campfires.

Please note: Seventh & Eighth grade students who have serious behavior infractions resulting in suspension, may not be allowed to attend this trip. Please be aware that after a certain period of time, refunds will not be available.

HIGH SCHOOL Travel

Music Tour

LSA’s band and choir groups Wind Ensemble and Delta Mu have the opportunity for a tour once per year during the spring. Students perform in venues nationwide with the chance to experience other locales in across the country.

A four-year rotation of trips include:

  • San Francisco
  • Fort Lauderdale/Miami
  • San Diego
  • Hawaii

Mission Trips

La Sierra Academy is committed to nurturing students who serve both the local and global community. Mission trips are offered each school year to facilitate the development of a service-oriented mindset.

LSA students have traveled to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Haiti, El Salvador, Mexico, New Orleans, the Navajo Nation in Arizona and New Mexico.
