1940s Yearbooks
The 1940s brought wartime pressure, rapid enrollment growth, and a clearer separation between the academy and the expanding college. During this period, the secondary school became known as La Sierra College Preparatory School. The decade reflects a school community shaped by World War II, postwar growth, and a renewed effort to preserve student memories.
Archive note: The Meteor continued in 1940, but no regular Meteor yearbook was published from 1941-1943. School records indicate that the 1941 yearbook was not published after the needed funds were not secured, while wartime conditions and national defense efforts affected later annual publication. For 1941-1943, the archive includes College Criterion final issues that help preserve a year-end record of campus life. The Meteor was revived in 1944 and continued through the rest of the decade.
